24in48 Readathon weekend

Reading weekend, yes!

I’ve been suffering from a foot injury this month and haven’t been able to go much anywhere else than my doctor’s appointments. So what better timing to participate a Readathon challenge?

The 24in48 challenge is basically challenging you to take a weekend for reading. For many of us it is a very dear hobby ( I love reading) but it can be difficult to remember to set some time aside to really dive into a book, so this weekend challenge might just be a great boost for reading. There are so many other entertainment options these days that it can be easy to forget how enjoyable reading can be. I blame games and Netflix (which I also enjoy much), and feel somewhat guilty when I see my TBR pile that seems to be endlessly growing. (Pro tip: fool yourself with new Kindle books, as you cannot see them stack up and gather dust on your night stand, haha).

I’ve never done this before, and I’m not confident that I would even have time during a normal busy weekend when the days fly with running errands, social gatherings and that precious time with my husband. But now I’m forced to stay home and move as little as possible, so really I’ll be mostly watching tv and or reading anyway.

The challenge lasts from first hour of Saturday until last hour of Sunday this weekend and I really don’t expect to make it to the full 24 hours, but I’m hoping that I’ll get to 10-ish hours during the two days and maybe even finish one or two of the books that I’m now reading.
